Gimena Sánchez Rivera

Soprano Gimena Sánchez Rivera, from San José, Costa Rica, is an undergraduate student at The Juilliard School, where she studies with Cynthia Hoffmann. This year, Sánchez Rivera brought Susanna to life in the school’s undergraduate production of Le Nozze di Figaro, covered the role of Miles in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, and will perform as Sister Catherine in Les Dialogues des Carmélites by Poulenc. Most recently, she became a member of Costa Rica’s National Lyric Company Opera Studio. Gimena enjoys language learning, writing, visual arts, and hopes to incorporate these passions into her work as a musician.
