Sarah Goldberg

Sarah Goldberg is a Nepali-American trombonist based in New York City. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Music in trombone performance at The Juilliard School, where she studies with Joseph Alessi as a scholarship student. In the fall of 2025, she will begin her Master of Music at The Colburn School, studying with David Rejano. Before Juilliard, she attended Interlochen Arts Academy. 

Sarah holds the second trombone position with Symphony in C in Camden, New Jersey. She is also a guest artist with Seraph Brass and has performed with the New World Symphony, Juilliard Orchestra, Juilliard Trombone Choir, and National Youth Orchestra.

Her festival appearances include fellowships at Music Academy of the West (2025), National Repertory Orchestra (2023-2024), and Domaine Forget International Music Festival (2023-2024). She has also participated in the International Women’s Brass Conference (2022, 2024), Third Coast Trombone Retreat (2022), DC Trombone Workshop (2022), and Mulcahy Trombone Seminar (2022). 

Sarah is a 2025 Yamaha Young Performing Artist Competition winner and won second place in the 2024 International Women’s Brass Conference Slaughter Solo Competition Trombone Category. She was a finalist in the 2023 Lowell Chamber Orchestra Concerto Competition and the 2022 International Competition for Young Instrumentalists “Gran Premio Povoletto” in Udine, Italy. In 2020, she was a Merit Winner in the National YoungArts Foundation Competition.
