Seah Yu
Seah Katherine Yu is a nineteen-year-old Korean-American cellist from Tokyo, Japan. Currently, she is pursuing her undergraduate studies at The Juilliard School in New York City with Professor Clara Minhye Kim. Prior to Juilliard, she studied at Walnut Hill School for the Arts and trained with Professor Yeesun Kim at the New England Conservatory. Seah received the first prize at the 2025 International Grande Music Competition. she is a 2024 National YoungArts winner, a finalist in the 202 Osaka International Music Competition, and a prizewinner in the Japan Classical Music Competition. In recent summers, Seah has participated in the Heifetz International Music Institute, the Bowdoin International Music Festival, the Kaufman Music Festival, the Encore Chamber Music Institute, and the Jeonju Vivace Chamber Festival.
