Zachary Marzulli

 

Zachary Marzulli is a bassist in the studio of Timothy Cobb at the Juilliard School. A native of Montclair, New Jersey, he graduated from the Juilliard Pre College Division in 2017 under the guidance of Eugene Levinson and was accepted into the class of 2021. Zachary is a recipient of the Homer & Constance Mensch Scholarship in Double Bass and the Fred Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship. As an orchestral musician, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall and Alice Tully Hall and was added to the Principal String Player Pool for the Juilliard Orchestra. At Juilliard, Zachary has performed new works with the AXIOM ensemble and the New Juilliard Ensemble. He is also a member of the Juilliard Lab Orchestra and works as an Orchestra Mentor in the Juilliard Pre College Division. Mr. Marzulli performs regularly as a student fellow with the Montclair Orchestra and is a recipient of Juilliard’s Gluck Community Service Fellowship, which brings interactive performances to healthcare facilities and other community-based organizations in New York City. He has been accepted to such festivals as the Aspen Music Festival and National Repertory Orchestra, as well as the 2020 New York String Orchestra Seminar. In July of 2019, Mr. Marzulli traveled to London with the Juilliard Orchestra, performing with musicians from the Royal Academy of Music at Snape Malting Concert Hall and the prestigious BBC Proms at Royal Albert Hall. In fall of 2019, he was offered trial week for a spot on the substitute list of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
