Claire Satchwell

Claire Satchwell comes from Solvang, California and is currently attending The Juilliard School working towards her Bachelor of Music for Viola Performance. She attended Interlochen Arts Academy. She was an avid ballet dancer for more than 12 years. She has premiered works by Hannah Lash and Nico Muhly. She has attended music festivals such as: Interlochen Arts Camp, Castleman Quartet Program, and the Chautauqua Institution. Performance as an outreach has been very important to her development as she was raised in a church with her father as the music director. In 2009, Claire took part in a writing contest sponsored by Solvang’s local bicycle shop and the Amgen Tour of California and won first prize, taking home a brand new bicycle. Claire hates being stuck indoors and loves to explore New York. Her goal when she goes outside is to try and get lost and hopefully find something new.
