Madeline Hanson

 

Canadian dance artist Maddie Hanson was trained at Soul Motion Integrated Movement Arts in Los Angeles, as well as with Jiri Pokorny’s Pioneer Project, The Dana Foglia Mentorship Program, and Erica Sobol’s The gypsy project: LA. She is a 2014 Monsters of Hip Hop Show Cast Alumnus, a 2012-2013 Intermediate Elite Protégé with The Pulse on Tour, and a member of immaBeast Company since 2013. At Juilliard, she has had the opportunity to work with Helen Simoneau (HS Dance), Katarzyna Skarpetowska, Stefanie Batten-Bland and Roy Assaf, as well as perform repertory by José Limón, Mark Morris, Martha Graham, and Crystal Pite. Her choreographic work has been presented in Juilliard’s Choreographic Honors, the 2018 APAP Showcase in New York City, and the 2017 DUMBO Dance Festival. She has choreographed for San Francisco Conservatory of Dance’s Summer Choreographic Residency 2017, Juilliard’s Composers and Choreographers Concert, Senior Production 2019, and for the Historical Performance division at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center. She was recently selected to present work as part of the Next@Graham program in May 2019, and received her first commission, creating a new work for MOVE(NYC) in August 2019.
