Jiahao Han

Jiahao Han (BM ’23, MM ’24, DMA expected ’29, piano) is the sole pianist accepted into The Juilliard School’s prestigious Doctoral of Musical Arts program in 2024, currently studying under the esteemed mentorship of Mr. Hung-Kuan Chen and Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky. 

As a soloist, Jiahao has made appearances with Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Tianjin Symphony Orchestra, Suzhou Symphony Orchestra, etc. His guest artist appearances have taken him to prestigious venues worldwide, including in China, the US, Germany, Poland, Romania, Spain, Australia, Korea, and Japan. Jiahao won second prize and best performance of the commissioned work prize at the 2025 Heida Hermanns International Piano Competition, second prize in the 2022 New York International Piano Competition, third prize in "Jinji Lake" International Piano Competition, and third prize in "Jenuesses International Music Competition Dinu Lipatti." His performances were hailed by the General-Anzeiger (Germany) as "solid, fantastic, and full of emotional drama." 

Embracing artistic innovation and integrity, Jiahao consistently dedicates himself to exploring new music and chamber works. Notably, Jiahao's piano trio (with violinist Dylan Hamme and cellist Elisabeth Chang) was selected to perform Arensky’s D-minor Piano Trio piano at Juilliard Dean's Commencement Chamber Music Concerts in 2025. In 2024, he was invited to perform in a benefit concert at the Carnegie Hall ("The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp"), presenting solo and chamber pieces by young composers. He has also embarked on a transformative journey as a non-major composition student under the esteemed tutelage of Dr. Philip Lasser at Juilliard. While studying at Juilliard, Jiahao is an ear training and theory teaching fellow as well as a teaching assistant on advanced counterpoint and harmony. He has been on the faculties of Juilliard Pre-college since 2025.
